We were fortunate enough to put hands on Tieva at the Futurity in 2014 as a full fleeced yearling male and were incredibly impressed with his luster, lock structure and density. Since then, we have not been able to get him out of our minds, and are very excited to be adding him to our herdsire row!
Tieva essentially means the chosen one in Polynesian, and that definition holds true for us when it comes to Tieva. His dam, a Kahuna daughter, is exceptional in fineness and density and truly parades around the paddock like the queen she is. She is a daughter of Pucara International's famous Pucara Allegro, the winner of Best in Shows and who made 22 Champion progeny who went on to win Best in Show in Australia! Tieva's Sire, Chakotah's Wyuna, certainly needs no introduction! Multi-champion, Futurity Judges choice and both Light and Dark Herdsire of the Year at Futurity! Wyuna’s Tieva profoundly displays the Suri traits we breed for: fineness, density, staple length and extreme luster with a regal attitude and head. He presents this on a stellar frame with girth, solid bone and the conformational expressions of what you desire in a stud male of the future. Although he has not been used much to this point (has 8 offspring) he has already put champions on the ground!
We are happy to announce that Tieva recently won Reserve Color Champion in halter at the Illinois Alpaca show, as an 8 year old breeding male!! Judge Arturo Pena kept asking his age, just to be sure, and was amazed with his retained fineness, his relocking and his luster for an 8 year old breeding male.
We lost Tieva in 2023. He will be greatly missed.
